B rentwood, Tennessee is a beautiful suburban city located 11 miles from Nashville in Williamson County. Brentwood has a total population of over 23,445 business and professional minded residents. Brentwood has experienced an amazing rebirth. By the time of the Civil War, Brentwood had grown to the richest area in the state. The soil was rich and fertile and area plantations flourished as was evident by the towering homes throughout the area. During the War, these homes were used to provide food and treat both the Union and Confederate soldiers. By the end of the War, the crops were gone and there were no farm animals left. The Civil War left a deep scar on the economy and many homes and plantations fell to ruin. Brentwood recovered slowly from the War, by the 1920's many of the plantation homes were bought and restored. With the construction of the interstate highway in the 1960's, Brentwood gradually grew and by the 1990's it once again reclaimed its place as one of the richest areas in Tennessee.

In addition to being home to many of the South's most beautiful antebellum homes, Saturn's state-of-the-art automobile manufacturing facility is also located here. Brentwood is the Nashville area's business center. While Brentwood is recognized primarily as being a residential community, at least 1,092 acres or approximately 4.8% of the total land area is zoned for commercial uses (office, retail and warehouse.) Roughly 30% of the commercial zoned land, or 156.64 acres, remains to be developed today. This land is located in the northern business district and in the Cool Springs area.
